Faith Formation for Youth

Helping Our Youth To Know and Follow Jesus

Helping Our Youth To Know and Follow Jesus

St. Philip's offers a wide range of opportunities for youth to grow in their faith. Our youth minister, David Gilbert, his team of volunteer assistants, and our corps of committed Sunday School teachers are singularly devoted to helping our youth understand who God is, why Christ came, and how the Holy Spirit yearns to bring forth the fruit of the Gospel in their daily lives.

Sunday School | Confirmation

Through 12th grade

Beginning after Labor Day, we provide faith formation for all ages on Sunday mornings from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. (adult classes begin at 9:30 a.m. to give parents ample time to drop off younger children). Classes are divided by age and are taught by dedicated staff and volunteers from our congregation. We use a Bible-centered curriculum, giving children and youth a strong overview of the story of salvation and how it ties to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Confirmation class is a year-long course designed to help students explore the foundations of the Christian faith, grow in their relationship with Christ, and prepare to make a personal commitment to live as his disciple. Most students are in 7th grade, though we gladly welcome those in other grades who feel ready to take steps to make a mature, public affirmation of their faith.

Registration for Sunday School other than Confirmation Class is is not necessary if your family is already in our management system (if you’ve previously registered for St. Philip’s events or activities). Please fill out one of the forms below if you are new to St. Philip’s or have a child interested in Confirmation!

Youth Group

Middle School (6th–8th grades): Fridays 6:00–8:15 p.m.
High School (9th–12th grades): Sundays 6:00–8:30 p.m.

Each week beginning after Labor Day, we will gather under the banner of Christ and celebrate life together! We play fun games, have small-group prayer time, worship, share a meal, study the Word of God, and grow in faith, fellowship, and being the family of God. Students are encouraged to bring friends to share in the joy of youth group!

Youth Group Needs Your Help!

Meals needed for our hungry and energetic youth groupers

We want to provide wonderful meals for our youth group; table fellowship is a big part of our youth group experience! We create one long table where the whole youth group family sits for laughter, love, and joy.

And we could really use your help to make this happen each week! Could you kindly prepare or purchase a meal for approximately 25 people ahead of youth group and drop it off between 6 and 6:30 p.m. on Friday or Sunday night? One of our amazing youth staff will meet you on the street, load the food, and take it to the State Street building. The youth staff will then serve the meal at 7:55 p.m., and you will have blessed many kids!

We are also taking monetary donations if you would prefer to pay for a meal by contributing to the youth meal fund. Please make a check out to St. Philip's Church and write "youth food #4245" in the memo line.

Please review the available slots below and click the button to sign up. Thank you!
