Children's Choirs

2026–2027 Choir registration

Our children's choirs are open to children ages K3 through 12th grade. All are welcome to join whether they are brand-new or seasoned singers! Membership at St. Philip's is not required.

Our youngest singers practice music readiness and learning to move to music in a Christian environment, while our older singers build on those fundamentals and learn to harmonize and blend their voices in a choir setting. Our choirs rehearse weekly on Wednesdays (K3–3rd grade) and Thursdays (4th–12th grade) during the school year and sing a minimum of six services between October and May.

2026–2027 choir registration

Wednesday Rehearsals (K3–3rd Grade)

St. Philip's Academy building (25 Cumberland Street)
Supervision will be provided for all choristers from 3:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. regardless of rehearsal time. Choristers may arrive early and/or stay later. Children will either be in rehearsal with their music director or rotating to a snack and fellowship time.

Drop-off instructions will be emailed to registered families. 

Cherub Choir (K3–K4): 4:00–4:30 p.m. (Zippy Hood)
St. Nicholas Choir (K5–1st Grade): 4:30–5:00 p.m. (Zippy Hood)
St. Cecilia Choir (2nd–3rd Grade): 4:00-5:00 p.m. (Paul Reese) 

Rehearsals begin September 16

Thursday Rehearsal (4th–12th grades)

Church office building (142 Church Street)
The Canterbury Choir meets in the choir room (second floor of the church office building, located on the corner of Church and Queen Streets) for rehearsal. Snacks are always provided, and we will have dinner once a month for extra fellowship time.

Canterbury Choir (4th–12th grade): 4:30–6:00 p.m. (Zippy Hood)

  • December 24: Canterbury Choir (4th–12th grade, 7:30 p.m. service)
  • February 21: St. Cecilia Choir and Canterbury Choirs (2nd–12th grade)
  • February 28: Cherub and St. Nicholas Choirs (K3–1st grade)
  • Thursday, March 4: Canterbury Choir (4th–12th grade, Carolina Yacht Club) 
  • April 25: All Choirs
