The Lord’s Perfect Timing and Faithfulness

We had an amazing turnout of 28 St. Philippians serving at the October 18 Saturday Serve at Hope To Home (H2H). Our team consisted of several families, couples, and Bible study members, and youth leader David Gilbert brought four high school youth groupers.

We unloaded donations from our church's recent H2H home goods drive and used the donations to make 168 bath towel kits, 62 cleaning kits, and 48 kitchen towel kits. The men assembled six wooden coffee tables and repaired furniture.

Those helping with deliveries filled the homes of four families in need. Claire Finland gifted each family with a framed Bible verse that had been hand-painted at the family Saturday Serve led by her mom, Brooke, the weekend before.

Linda Spratt brought her 92-year-old mother, Earla Simonson, who was visiting from Florida. Earla volunteers at her home in Tequesta, Florida, for four hours each Saturday. Never too old to serve the Lord!
H2H leaders were overwhelmed with the Lord's provisions of towels and cleaning kits, commenting how His timing and faithfulness is always perfect. There were no towel kits or cleaning kits at the warehouse before our team arrived and unloaded our donations. They also thanked our team for the $1700 of gifts cards received through the Amazon wishlist, giving us receipts for the mattresses, bed frames, pillows, and a few pots and pans purchased.

Folks enjoyed using their spiritual gifts of mercy, giving, and serving while making new friendships. What a beautiful day!
A note about H2H's current needs: The nights are beginning to get colder, and the warehouse is in need of blankets and full or double comforters. You may drop off at Sandra Anderson’s house or call her (843) 345-4188 to make arrangements to meet at the Rector’s Sunday Forum.
