Welcome, Lisa Dubay!

 St. Philip’s Preschool’s Director Beginning 2026–2027

Following the bittersweet announcement that Lee Moore and Angela Clark, who have served as co-directors of the St. Philip’s Preschool for 17 years, would be retiring at the end of this school year, we are pleased to bring you some joyful news: Lisa Dubay has accepted the call to serve as director of the preschool beginning this fall!

About Lisa: Lisa Cannarella Dubay was born and raised in Sumter, South Carolina, and has been a member of our diocese since birth. At the age of 15, she began serving in children’s and youth ministries at The Church of the Holy Comforter in Sumter, as well as on the diocesan level. Shortly after she graduated from Winthrop College with degrees in history and education, she married the Reverend Canon David Dubay. They have raised three children: Joseph, Sadie, and Julia.

Between 1991 and 1999, Lisa taught 7th and 8th grade and 5K–2nd grade in public schools. In 2002, when David entered seminary in Sewanee, TN, Lisa was asked to be a teacher and director of the small preschool at the seminary. During her time there, she realized the Lord had put a new calling on her life: shepherding the hearts of little ones towards Him. Since returning to the Charleston area in 2005, she has served as the director of two preschools, including St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Weekday School in West Ashley, where she has served for 14 years. Lisa has a passion for integrating the newest research in child development and best teaching practices into the Christian preschool experience and a heart for sharing the gospel way with students, families, and teachers alike.

Lisa is a member of St. John-Holy Trinity Anglican, where her husband is the rector. She is excited to begin a new chapter in ministry as part of the St. Philip’s team.
