Tinkerers, Deliverers, a Hamster, and More!

The Saturday Serve at Hope to Home (H2H) on May 30 brought 21 wonderful volunteers together. Our group included several young professionals, married couples, four families, and even a baby to serve. Thank you all for your bountiful enthusiasm and support to make this Saturday Serve a great success!

The warehouse teams kept busy making kitchen, towel, and cleaning kits. We put 80 towel kits, 22 kitchen kits, and seven cleaning kits together. The towel kits we assembled should be enough to last until the end of the year––thank you all for your hard work!
The folks working on furniture restoration/building (“the tinkerers”) also kept busy. Thank you for bringing those tables and dressers back to life!
Finally, the delivery team helped load up the truck at the warehouse and unload it at the recipients’ homes, delivering all the things one needs to furnish a home, including living room, dining room, and bedroom furniture, lamps, and art. Kitchen, bed, bath, and cleaning supplies are also provided! These deliveries brought great hope and inspiration to our very deserving recipients. We had a lovely mom and daughter duo on the delivery team, Skyler Mace and her second-grader, Madelyn, who befriended several children. She most notably found joy sitting on a girl’s bed playing with her new baby hamster. Thank you, delivery team, for your passion and the care you gave to all of our recipients!

The next Hope to Home Saturday Serve will be held in the fall. Stay tuned, and visit hopetohomesc.org to learn more about our Home Mission ministry partners!
