House of Prayer: April/May Prayer Points

“My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.” –Isaiah 56:7
“The prayers of the righteous avail much.” –James 5:16a 

Answered Prayers (Thank You, Lord):

1. For the wonderful turnout at all the Easter Services. For the fact that the balcony work was finished in time. 2. For the students enrolled at St. Philip’s Academy. 3. For the wonderful worship being led by Chris, Paul, and Zippy. For our choirs and their faithfulness. 4. For all the youth confirmands starting their faith journey. Thank you for Al Phillips and his team. Thank you for the adult confirmands, as well. 5. For the beautiful new vestments. 6. For the safe removal of the scaffolding. 7. For the gifted St. Philip’s Academy teachers. For their hearts for children and the Lord. 8. For Lee Moore and Angela Clark’s faithful seventeen years of service to the St. Philip’s Preschool. For Lisa Dubay, the new director.

Prayer Points

1. For the continued safety of the workers. 2. For continued blessings and protection for Bishop Edgar, our clergy, and their families. 3. For the Academy classes to be filled. For extra wisdom for Justin as he directs the many decisions involved. 4. For a successful Vacation Bible School (VBS) in June. For all volunteer positions to be filled. 5. For the monthly ladies’ luncheons to continue to be well-attended. Blessings upon our first two speakers, Amy Anderton and Amy McGreevy, for sharing their wisdom.

Prayer Points for the Nations

Ukraine: For peace between Russia and Ukraine and wisdom for those working towards it. May God’s guidance prevail in every meeting. For Putin and Zelenskyy to be able to agree to a cease fire and stop the war. For Putin to have a change of heart or remove his position of authority.

Iran: For war to end quickly and for new leadership to be  godly people who care for the people. For the final negotiations to be fruitful and guided by both sides to bring peace. For the issues keeping the Strait of Hormuz from fully opening to be resolved.

Haiti: For the safety of the doctors, nurses, and patients going back and forth from the clinic we support through our World Missions Team. For a godly leader to be raised up in the upcoming election. 

Israel: For the peace agreement with Lebanon to be successful. For Hamas to surrender and for those in authority to have wisdom as they move into the next phases to restore and rebuild the land in Gaza. For protection for Israel and peace within the walls of Jerusalem. For mercy for all of the people misplaced during these multiple war zones.

Cuba: For wisdom for the Cuban government as they decide how America can play an important role in their country. For Marco Rubio as he works with both sides for a new direction for the people of Cuba.

United States: For reconciliation between the House and Senate. That the funds would be granted for the various agencies that have been blocked. For wisdom for the Supreme Court justices as they make decisions that affect the country and the people. For the President to be surrounded by people who provide wise counsel. May they be people of prayer. For safety and protection for all in authority from the President down to our local governors and officials and their families. For the midterm elections to vote in godly people who love this country. For the upcoming celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary. For South Carolina: That the upcoming election would vote in a godly governor for our state. Thanks to McMasters who has governed well. For South Carolina’s part in the 250th-anniversary celebration. For the volunteer needs to be filled and for the celebration plans to be inspired by God as we honor the history we participated in as our country became a nation.

As a revival broke out in Charleston many years ago, may it move again across our state and nation in Jesus’ Name.
