David is one of the most beloved characters in the Bible and we have much to learn from God’s dealings with him as a boy, young man, and mature adult. What we learn about him also points us to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of David. This series examines three key events in David’s life: his anointing, his encounter with Goliath, and his adultery with Bathsheba. Taken collectively, we see the man after God’s own heart at his best and at his worst, fighting in faith and falling into sin in need of forgiveness. These are familiar stories for most of us, but lessons God can use to move us to new levels of faith and obedience.
